Finally, USAID is working actively to prevent and address multi-drug resistant tuberculosis. USAID is currently or plans to support drug resistant surveys in a number of countries, including in South Africa, Ethiopia, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. We are supporting operations research on improved DOTS plus programs including in South Africa. We provide funding to support the work of the STOP TB Green Light Committee (GLC). The GLC provides technical assistance and monitoring of DOTS Plus for multi-drug resistant TB pilot projects.
