Guinea is a source, transit, and destination country for women and children trafficked for the purposes of sexual exploitation and forced labor. Guinean girls are trafficked internally for forced labor as domestic servants and boys for shoe shining and street vending. Some children are also trafficked for forced labor in agriculture and diamond mining camps. Women and girls are trafficked to Cote d’Ivoire, Benin, Senegal, Nigeria, South Africa, Spain, and Greece for sexual exploitation. On a smaller scale, men are trafficked for forced labor in agriculture. Guinea is a destination country for forced child labor from Mali, Guinea-Bissau, Sierra Leone, and Senegal. Program Information – Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation

The Ambassador's Fund for Cultural Preservation is the only cultural preservation program in the U.S. government that provides direct small grant support to heritage preservation in less developed countries. In creating the fund, Congress noted, "in efforts to assist in preserving the heritage of other cultures, we show our respect for them." ...

Congress specified that Ambassadors from eligible countries (see list below) may submit proposals for consideration. Projects are brought to the attention of the U.S. Ambassadors in different ways. Often the project is a partnership between the U.S. Embassy and the country's Ministry of Culture or local non-profit organization. It is the Embassy's Public Affairs Section that oversees the project.
