Address by Ambassador Joseph Huggins At the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Tirisanyo Catholic-Commission Orphan Care Facility, Mogoditshane, Botswana - "Gaborone Botswana"
It is important to acknowledge the Rotary Club of Gaborone for identifying the needs of the community and taking a proactive stance in addressing this need. The members of this club personify Rotary International’s time honored slogan, “Every Rotarian an Example to Youth.” This slogan is an expression of Rotary International’s commitment to children and youth in each community in which Rotary clubs exist. Serving young people has long been a part of the Rotary program. We must also acknowledge the corporate responsibility of FNB and Standard Chartered Bank. The Managing Directors of the respective banks have shown through their leadership and example that they are proactive members of our community. In addition to donating the land for this project, the Catholic Church will also staff the orphanage with Nuns from the Diocese.
