Movement for the People Alternative (MAP) ...

Benin, a narrow, north-south strip of land in WestAfrica, lies between the Equator and the Tropic of Cancer. Benin's latituderanges from 6 degree 30' N to 12 degree 30' N and its longitude from 1degree E to 3 degree 40' E. Benin is bounded by Togo to the west, BurkinaFaso and Niger to the north, Nigeria to the east, and the Bight of Beninto the south. With an area of 112,622 square kilometers, roughly the sizeof Pennsylvania, Benin extends from the Niger River in the north to theAtlantic Ocean in the south, a distance of 700 kilometers (about 500 miles).Although the coastline measures 121 kilometers (about 80 miles), the countrymeasures about 325 kilometers (about 215 miles) at its widest point. Itis one of the smaller countries in West Africa: 8 times smaller than Nigeria, its neighbor to the east. It is, however, twice as large as Togo, its neighborto the west. A relief map of Benin shows that it has little variation inelevation (average elevation 200 meters). [Read More]

Just last week we concluded an Open Skies deal with Turkey. There are obviously some key "holes" in the map -- with Spain and even more notably the United Kingdom. I hope our British friends soon come to understand the economic penalty the market will impose on their economy if they continue to restrict competition at Heathrow. ... [Read More]
