International cooperation is crucial for observing, understanding, preparing for, and mitigating potential impacts of climate change. The U.S. is by far the largest funder of activities under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC). Bush Administration international initiatives include the Methane to Markets Partnership, the International Partnership for a Hydrogen Economy, the Carbon Sequestration Leadership Forum, the Generation IV International Forum for nuclear power, and the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Partnership.
