Most social occasions are informal or casual. Casual events call for sport shirts or the guayabera. Reasonably priced short-sleeved guayaberas can be purchased locally. Long-sleeved guayaberas (difficult to purchase locally) may be worn in place of a suit on some occasions. Bring a selection of slacks to be worn with shirts to evening engagements.
