Building a Better Credit Report
You may be able to lower your cost of credit by consolidating your debt through a second mortgage or a home equity line of credit. Remember that these loans require you to put up your home as collateral. If you can't make the payments — or if your payments are late — you could lose your home. ...

The up-front fee may be as high as several hundred dollars. Resist the temptation to follow up on advance-fee loan guarantees. They may be illegal. Many legitimate creditors offer extensions of credit, such as credit cards, loans, and mortgages through telemarketing, and require an application fee or appraisal fee in advance. But legitimate creditors never guarantee in advance that you'll get the loan. Under the federal Telemarketing Sales Rule, a seller or telemarketer who guarantees or represents a high likelihood of your getting a loan or some other extension of credit may not ask for or receive payment until you've received the loan. ... Did you know that micro-enterprises account for 15.8 percent of all employment in Michigan–an estimated total of 864,000 people? The Lansing Community Micro-Enterprise Fund (LCMF) offers a revolving loan fund to entrepreneurs that are unable to qualify for traditional bank loans. Loans range from $500 to $10,000, and 98 percent of the recipients have been minority-owned businesses. LCMF provides technical assistance, one-on-one, and also offers an entrepreneurship course. Budget Request for Fiscal Years 2003 and 2004 for the Delivery of Services to the Citizens of Wyoming
The Wyoming Department of Health request was determined largely by increases in the state's Medicaid program for prescription drugs, client increases with the increased coverage adopted under the Kid Care program as well as adolescent in-patient mental health services, expansion of elderly programs such as assisted living and home and community-based waiver, meeting the required increases for nursing home providers, trying to reduce the waiting lists for developmentally disabled adults and children, and the addition of rehabilitative services such as treatment of traumatic brain injuries. I recommend expanded services in the community for mental health clients to meet our obligations to bring closure to the Chris S. litigation. ... [Read More]
