Buffalo Bill Dam , of the Shoshone Project , constructed 1905-1910 on the Shoshone River about 6 miles upstream from Cody, Wyoming, is one of the first high concrete dams built in the United States. It is a feature of the Shoshone Project, one of Reclamation's earliest irrigation projects. Colonel William F. The main historic site is Buffalo Bill Dam, which is listed in the National Register of Historic Places as a major engineering achievement. A needle valve, ball valve, and a cableway winch once used at the dam are on display in the parking lot west of the dam. Fishing open year-round. Wyoming State fishing license required. Fish species (coldwater) include rainbow trout, brown trout, lake tro ... [Read More]

Geringer Protests United Express Withdrawal
Wyoming’s large geographic area requires the availability of air service to our regional air terminals, both for business travelers and for tourism. In particular, Wyoming is one of the fastest growing areas for international tourism because of the appeal of the Great American West that is highly sought by international visitors worldwide. As United continues to mature as an international airline in its own right as well as through the Star Alliance it would seem to me that Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Devil’s Tower, together with the Western mystique embodied in the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo, are world class tourism destinations that are a magnet that will favor increasing ridership on United over any of your international competitors.I have followed United’s financial performance and its extraordinary succession of record setting quarterly profits. I have also read in your ANote to our Customers@ (December 1997 Hemispheres) that United is pleased to have S ... [Read More]
