No. Even under the limited circumstances described above, a judge can only order expunction of the court's record. The Wisconsin Crime Information Bureau also keeps criminal records. The case may still exist in the records of the District Attorney, other law enforcement records, the Department of Transportation and other places. The judge has no authority to require removal of those records. ... Case information is kept on WCCA for a minimum of 10 years or the minimum retention period for the case type as set by the supreme court rules ( SCR Chapter 72 Retention and Maintenance of Court Records ), whichever is longer. However, cases with active warrants or active appeals remain available on WCCA. Although case information may not be available on WCCA, outstanding financial obligations for a case remain due until paid in full.
