The Rural Neuro-Network for Coordination of Services (NNCS) project seeks to provide effective, culturally sensitive, and coordinated access to appropriate medical and mental health services for residents of West Virginia who have neurologic impairments such as spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, and spina bifida. The target population is 96 percent Caucasian, 2 percent African American, and 2 percent other populations. The network comprises representatives from health care providers, home health agencies, mental health agencies, nursing homes, children with special health care needs, the West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services, transportation coordinating agencies, centers for independent living, and the West Virginia Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injury Rehabilitation Fund Board, with support from various other entities. ...
