EPA NE: Brownfields Success Stories- Buttonhole Golf Course Developer Ed Mauro envisioned a manicured, 9-hole golf course as a teaching center that would bring golf to the area’s 25,000 youth. Button Hole would be a place for them to learn about the sport and life from adult mentors and volunteers. Local governments, Rhode Island Golf Association, Rhode Island Golf Foundation, and PGA Tour pros Billy Andrade and Brad Faxon backed the project and construction began in 1999. Purchase and provide access to two (2) different models of individualgolf mobility aid devices. One device will have a fixed seat that rotates on a fixedpedestal allowing full turning for golfers. One will be a mobility aid device that has aseat that not only pivots three hundred and sixty degrees (360), but also mechanicallyraises and lowers for the golfer with a disability who needs to adjust the height on thecart for his/her swing. The mobility aid devices shall be kept at two different courses ingeographically diverse areas of the City of Indianapolis. The City shall install signs atall of the thirteen (13) courses covered by this Agreement informing patrons thatindividual golf mobility aid devices are available upon advance request for the sameprice as a regular cart.
