As of January 1, 2004, a coalition of contractors headed by Affiliated Computer Services (ACS) called the Texas Medicaid & Healthcare Partnership (TMHP) assumed Medicaid Claims Administrator duties for the State of Texas under contract with the Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC). This new contract transitions to TMHP functions such as claims processing, the automated inquiry system (AIS), TDHconnect, and other services formerly handled by the National Heritage Insurance Company (NHIC).
