Oregon Coast National Wildlife Refuge Complex: Education
The Oregon Coast NWR Complex is the receiving site for the State of Oregon Federal Junior Duck Stamp Conservation and Design Program . Students from kindergarten through high school are encouraged to get involved in this innovative, curriculum-based program through an annual art competition offered in each state. The entry deadline each year is March 15. The Best of Show from each state competes in the national competition in Washington, D.C. The national winner's artwork becomes the image for the next year's Junior Duck Stamp. Michael Jaffe – Since 1975, Michael Jaffe has been a prominent member of the philatelic community, specializing in Federal Duck Stamps and other wildlife conservation stamps. Owner of Michael Jaffe Stamps, Jaffe maintains one of the nation’s largest inventories of duck stamps and prints. He has actively promoted the Federal Duck Stamp Program, and has personally assembled a Gold Medal exhibit of Indian Reservation Hunting and Fishing Stamps as well as Federal, State and Tribal waterfowl stamps. His most recent exhibition of waterfowl stamps has won Gold Medals at several national and regional stamp shows.
