City Manager Report The Bricktown Ballpark has been leased by the Oklahoma RedHawks since April 1998. The lease agreement between the RedHawks and the OCPPA states the RedHawks are responsible for the day-to-day maintenance. In addition, the RedHawks are responsible for up to $25,000 of capital replacement expenses in any one year. During construction, the RedHawks provided approximately $4.55 million for ballpark improvements. Of this amount, $1.0 million of the RedHawks construction contribution will be recovered by the RedHawks in the form of rent credits. The annual rental fee of $150,000 or 7% of gross paid admissions (whichever is greater) is credited to the RedHawks until the $1.0 million is recaptured. During the first three years of use, the Redhawks rental charges have totaled $500,362, which has been credited toward the $1.0 million. It is estimated that in FY 05 (after the $1.0 million has been recaptured) the RedHawks will begin paying rental fees to the OCPPA. ... [Read More]
