The PSID User's Guide (Hill, 1992) notes that the original PSID sampleactually consisted of two independent samples, one drawn by the SurveyResearch Center and referred to as the SRC sample, the other selected fromthe Survey of Economic Opportunity (SEO) conducted in 1966 and 1967 bythe Census Bureau for the Office of Economic Opportunity (OEO). The initialresponse rate for the SEO sample (Survey Research Center, 1972) was calculatedto be 74 percent, based on the sample of households provided to SRC bythe Census Bureau and the Office of Economic Opportunity. Dr. Jwa-il James Seo, Lorain, Ohio -- The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of Ohio signed an agreement with Dr. Jwa-il James Seo resolving a complaint alleging that he failed to provide effective communication. The complainant, who is deaf, scheduled a medical appointment for her five-year-old son. At the appointment, the complainant and Dr. Seo attempted to communicate by writing notes, but both agreed they were unable to communicate effectively in this manner. Dr. Seo later told the complainant he could no longer treat her son because he could not afford to pay for a sign language interpreter. Under the settlement, Dr. Seo agreed to provide auxiliary aids, including sign language interpreters, for the complainant and all other individuals who need such aids. The contract with IBM is actually 2 contracts totaling $7.4 million. The first is for portal services and is $3.7 million over 1 year. The 2nd contract is for hosting the new state portal at the Boulder IBM hosting facility after which the state will evaluate whether to continue to outsource the service or move it in-house.
