Dr. Alan R. Schriber currently serves as chairman of the PUCO. He was appointed chairman by Gov. Bob Taft in 1999 and reappointed in 2004. Chairman Schriber also served as a PUCO commissioner from 1983-1989, appointed by former Gov. Richard F. Celeste. As chairman of the PUCO, Schriber is the head of a 400-person agency that works to oversee the regulation of electric, natural gas, telecommunications, water, and commercial transportation in the state of Ohio.
