Representative Thomas M. Reynolds, 26th District of New York Reynolds' ascension to the top ranks of the House leadership was the subject of profiles in both the New York Times and Washington Post. The Times, which named Reynolds as one of a half-dozen representatives expected to play a prominent role in the 109th Congress, reported that he has "filled a large void in a weakened New York delegation" because of his reputation for loyalty and hard work; while the Post noted that "Reynolds has quietly become one of the most influential Republicans in the House." His hometown newspaper, the Buffalo News, recently wrote that with "a love of legislating and an old-fashioned backslapping style, Reynolds has built a House career that at this point looks charmed- and limitless."
