FLETC Artesia Overview
The FLETC-Artesia facility has grown dramatically over the years. In 2000, a new 24- and 48-person classroom building was completed with state-of-the art equipment, interview suites, an extremely well-equipped courtroom, drug labs, and fingerprint labs. In 2001, the Physical Techniques Building was doubled in size. It houses 10 mat rooms, gymnasium, cardio room, and weight rooms with top-of-the-line equipment. The PT building also houses the Federal Occupational Health Unit which provides care to the staff and students. The number of outdoor firearms ranges has increased from five to 16, in addition to three live-fire shoot houses, three non-lethal shoot house airplanes, mat rooms, classroom buildings, cover course, skeet range, gas house, two newly completed indoor/outdoor ranges, and judgmental pistol shooting simulators.
