Department of Financial Institutions - The ABCs of Credit Card Finance – Essential Facts for Students
The Department of Financial Institutions and State Controller's Office have partnered with the Center for Student Credit Card Education, Inc. to offer a free credit card literacy program for California’s high school seniors to teach students how to wisely choose and responsibly use a credit card before going on to college or out into the workforce. Criminal Actions
On June 10, 2003, in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, Percella Roper, former bookkeeper for Transport Workers Union (TWU) Local 234, was charged with embezzling $98,132 in union funds. The information alleges that Roper (1) deposited $50,058 of union funds into a savings account that she kept at the TWU Credit Union, (2) converted $2,458 of union funds to pay union dues for herself and other union clerical employees, (3) assisted a TWU Local 234 officer in the embezzlement of $26,935 from Local 234 picnics, and (4) assisted the same officer in the embezzlement of $18,681 in cash receipts for sales of union clothing. Q8: Which credit unions (or types of credit unions) report to NCUA annually, semi-annually, and any other frequency that is required? A8: Allfederally insured credit unions are required to file call reports semiannually as of June 30 and December 31. federally insured credit unions are noted as type 1 (federal charter) and type 2 (state charter with federal insurance) within the database.  All cycles for June and December will contain data for allfederally insured credit unions. In addition to the semiannual reporting noted above,federally insured credit unions with assets greater than $50 million (as of the preceding year end) are required to file call reports quarterly as of March 31 and September 30.  All cycles for March and September will contain data for these credit unions.
