The Cardiovascular Health Program's goal is to decrease the number of deaths due to cardiovascular disease (heart disease and stroke) in Nebraska. The program is progressing on the development of a comprehensive approach to cardiovascular disease, including primary and secondary prevention and its accompanying risk factors (poor nutrition, physical inactivity, tobacco use, high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol, and obesity).
