However,near the Sherwood Medical site are several industrial and commercial facilities and privateresidences ( Figures 2 and 3 ) ( 2 ). ATSDR conducted a search of the EPA Toxics Release Inventory (TRI) records for facilities in theNorfolk, Nebraska, area. The search showed that some area facilities, including Sherwood MedicalCompany, have released VOCs, such as 1,1,1-TCA, into the air. The TRI contained no record ofVOC disposal via land, surface water, or groundwater during the 1987 through 1989 reportingperiod. The database does not provide sufficient information to estimate any airborne contaminantconcentrations.
