DSS Press Release - May 23, 2005 The DSS Division of Medical Services (DMS) and the Department of Insurance worked together with Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Missouri and its Pharmacy Benefit Manager, Wellpoint, to recover the payments. "We were facing challenges making the process work, so we contacted our sister agency, Department of Insurance. Working together with Blue Cross/Blue Shield, we were able to resolve the issues," said Dr. Mike Ditmore, DMS Director. On May 18, 2005 the first check, in the amount of $1.5 million, was deposited into the Medicaid program’s account.
