The people of Mississippi can take pride in that our fair state was recently recognized in Washington D.C. for excellence in grant dispersal of Homeland Security funds provided by the Federal Government, allowing the funds allocated for fighting terrorism to be put to immediate use. The Mississippi Office of Homeland Security is also proud to say that Mississippi has been viewed as a possible model for other states in the development of basic awareness training programs.
