This does notinclude the effect of (1) attrition between sample selection by the CensusBureau and the first interview by the Census Bureau of respondents in 1967,which led to a response rate of 91.6 percent (Office of Economic Opportunity,1970), (2) sample loss through subsequent refusals to remain in the samplethat became the SEO component of the PSID, since about 25 percent refusedto allow their names to be passed to SRC (Hill 19 ... To help ensure consistency in the values of these fields, this appendix lists recommended valuesfor these fields. Included are abbreviations for many governmental agencies involved with theNWS hydrometeorological program, including federal, state, county, and local agencies. The listwas intended to include the majority of cooperating offices; regrettably, it does not account forevery office that is involved with and supports the activities of the NWS. This is particularly truefor the local offices and interests. In addition to listing the external agencies/offices, this appendixprovides a list of NWS WFO and RFC office identifiers and a list of state numbers.Given below is a list of database fields whose values should be selected from the abbreviations inthis appendix, if one exists.
