10-355 Office of Family Support
The Office of Family Support provides temporary income support for low income families, and child support enforcement services to families with absent parents. The Office of Family Support administers the federal TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families) program, related child care programs, the federal Find Work employment and training program, the federal Food Stamp program, and the federal Child Support Enforcement program. The Office of Family Support also administers the disability determination process for the federal Supplemental Security Income program. The disability determination function is excluded from the Children's Budget because the determination process and the client benefits are 100% federally funded and controlled. The Find Work program has not been included as an expenditure for children, even though some program participants may be under 18, because adolescents are not a target population of this program in Louisiana.
