To provide a medium security institution for the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky within the organizational framework of the Corrections Department, Division of Adult Institutions. This institution will provide housing, care, and safety for adult male felons while delivering resources to the inmate, staff, and Commonwealth which are designed to measurably reduce the probability of inmate re-incarceration. The Western Kentucky Correctional Complex will extend a firm, reasonable, and humane environment which stresses the philosophy that the adults assigned here are encouraged to accept responsibility for their conduct, individual attitudes, and actions while incarcerated inside a security enhanced area.
