Sergeant Gary D. Wall, 438th Military Police Company, Kentucky National Guard, distinguished himself by a conspicuous act of bravery above and beyond the call of duty while serving on State Active Duty during the running of the 102nd Kentucky Derby. While serving in the Governor's escort, Sergeant Wall saw an ignited smoke grenade thrown onto the track immediately after the Derby had commenced. The potential for disaster was immediate and incalculable. Without hesitation and with complete disregard forhis personal safety, Sergeant Wall ran onto the track to retrieve the burning grenade. Though temporarily blinded by the smoke and unable to determine the location of the horses, he carried the grenade to the edge of the track where it was buried. Sergeant Wall's immediate reaction to the situation prevented the 102nd Kentucky Derby from becoming a total disaster and without doubt saved the lives of jockeys, horses, and spectators. His heroic action prevented a catastrophic conclusion to ... [Read More]

Kentucky Derby Hosiery is another company we cited. Gary Moore was supposed to be my partner today. Walter had to come on the last minute and he has been a good sport about it. Kentucky Derby Hosiery reduced their lost work days from 1,500 to zero while tripling their work force. ...

We developed it with the consultation and advice of industry and labor. These are the elements that these people said it needed to have. We serve as an umbrella organization and utilize the services of private consultants. There is a vendor room. Believe it or not, we have a room where there is all kinds of stuff. WDNR - DNR Outdoor Report - July 14, 2005
- The Mississippi River water level dropped a lot this week. he Mississippi River rose to 11 feet a couple weeks ago but is now at 8.2 feet. It appears as if the river will continue to drop. The Wisconsin River rose late in the week but stabilized and dropped to normal levels. The Kickapoo River’s water level is about average for this time of year. Barge and recreational boating traffic is very heavy on the Mississippi so boaters should use caution and observe speed and distance laws. Now that the Mississippi River’s water level is dropping many submerged dangers are being exposed. Deadheads, wing dams, and slough closures all pose dangers to boaters. Some backwater areas and mud/sand flats could also cause problems. Those who are unfamiliar with the Mississippi River should seek out a river map, use a depth/fish finder and slow down. The white pelicans have returned to the Mississippi River. Most are staying in Pool 9 above the Lynxville dam. Most of the Canada geese goslings are getti ... [Read More]

Transcript of the April 12, 2002 Subcommittee on Privacy andConfidentiality Conference Call
ROTHSTEIN: OK, this deals with the issue that we addressed earlier ininitial contacts, and it deals with the issue of when notice must be providedand the NPRM says that notice must be provided at "first servicedelivery." And I would like to propose that we consider change –recommending a change in that to be "at first contact" and the reasonthat I suggest that is that if an individual goes to a, let's say a hospital,to pick up their medical records that were generated before HIPAA and to givethose records to, you know, a new physician, that would not be a servicedelivery, but it would be a first contact with the individual and I think atthat point the individual should be, on picking up the records should –should be presented with a notice and told what will be done with those recordsor other records, you know, these may be only copied and so the originals wouldstill be in the file. ...
