Anglers are much more active in early morning and evening hours and fishing success has been good. Bass continue to be active and some nice fish over 15 inches are being caught. Walleye fishing is a bit slower as the fish are holding in deeper water though success is better in the late evening hours. Musky anglers are finding some fish with several reports of fish caught in the mid-30 inch range. Boating activity is brisk on the hot days as vacationers enjoy the warm weather and warm water temperatures. Boaters should be aware of the traffic conditions on the water as they operate. Numerous water-related activities can be taking place at the same time during busy periods on any water body. The second and most visible form of gambling at cockfights are the side bets, which are made in the same manner as those at a dogfight. Side bets frequently involve odds, and betting will continue throughout much of the actual fight, with the odds shifting as it becomes apparent that one of the cocks is injured or dying. The two opposing owners of the cocks in a match will sometimes agree to a side bet on their own birds as well. A third form of gambling at some cockfights involves a type of lottery based on a number arbitrarily given to each cockfighter when the entry fee is paid.
