As part of the Commonwealth Office of Technology, the Division of Geographic Information (DGI) is responsible for encouraging, coordinating, and implementing GIS programs within the Commonwealth of Kentucky. DGI works with both state and local government, and serves as a liaison to federal mapping agencies. Activities include strategic planning, project management, technical and administrative support, dissemination of spatial data, education and training, research, and policy development.
