To help ensure consistency in the values of these fields, this appendix lists recommended valuesfor these fields. Included are abbreviations for many governmental agencies involved with theNWS hydrometeorological program, including federal, state, county, and local agencies. One of the earliest highlights of the Cooperative Program in the Middle Rio Grande Basin was the report on theavailability of ground water in the Albuquerque area by Bjorklund and Maxwell (1961). They presented regionalmaps of the geology and water-table configuration in the area. Reeder and others (1967) provided aquantitative analysis of the water resources in the Albuquerque area, and computed effects on the Rio Grandefrom ground-water pumpage. They presented projected water-table declines and depletions of Rio Grande flowdue to projected ground-water withdrawals. Following a period devoted primarily to data-collection activities, thedevelopment, construction, and documentation of the Albuquerque Basin ground-water flow model rank asrecent significant milestones in the Cooperative Program with the City.
