The flexible environment can be used as a 36-foot wide, 9-foot tall, 3D projection system for applications such as military training simulations. AMES, Iowa — Iowa State University’s Virtual Reality Applications Center hasopened a new flexible system for use in researching virtual reality and collaboration. The"immersive projection" system can create a viewing area as large as 36 feet wideand 9 feet tall, about equal to the display area of 380 standard 17-inch computermonitors.
