Iowa will be promoted at both the Humanitarian Bowl in Boise, Idaho on December 31, and at the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida on January 2. At the Humanitarian Bowl, where the Iowa State Cyclones will be playing, IDED has secured two 30-second commercials to run on the stadium screens featuring Governor Vilsack inviting people to live, work and play in Iowa. At the Orange Bowl, where the University of Iowa Hawkeyes will be playing, fans will see a full-page advertisement on the back cover of the official program and two 30-second commercials on the stadium screens during the game. Both incorporate the message that "Iowa is a Smart Place to Live, Work and Play." An e-mail has also be sent to people in the Human Resource Recruitment Consortium database currently living in Florida, giving two lucky winners the opportunity to win a set of tickets. The Human Resource Recruitment Consortium participated in an alumni event with the Greater Des Moines Partnership on November 15 in Denver, CO. The event brought alumni together to root for the Hawkeyes during the University of Iowa vs. Minnesota football game. During the game, representatives from the Greater Des Moines Partnership, companies and the HRRC networked with the fans at the reception venue and provided information on opportunities in Iowa. September 14-15, 20 members of Iowa Wing Civil Air Patrol attended SLS and CLC. 1Lt. Brandon L. Hanson directed Squadron Leadership School and Capt. Suzanne Tomlinson directed the Corporate Learning Course. Both directors had the opportunity to work with many experts in their field from a pool of IAWG instructors. The students learnt about uniform wear, CAP-USAF relationship, how wing and squadron finance work, and many other things on how CAP functions. Also many on September 14 th learned of the defeat of the Iowa Hawkeyes by Iowa State. Congratulations to the members that graduated from these courses.
