Indiana Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) Management Plan One role of the federal government in the prevention of unintentional introductions of aquatic nuisance species is defined under Section 1101 of NANPCA, which mandates the establishment of regulations for ballast water management aimed at limiting introductions through transoceanic shipping.
