The Standardbred Breed Development program was established to promote the Indiana Standardbred industry. This program, funded by the Standardbred Breed Development Fund, is used to further the Indiana Standardbred industry while stimulating the agri-business sector of the State's economy. Twenty percent (20%) of the riverboat admission tax (.65) allocated to the racing industry is distributed to the Breed Development Funds. The Breed Development Fund is divided forty-eight percent (48%) to the Standardbred Breed Development Fund, forty-eight percent (48%) to the Thoroughbred Breed Development Fund and four percent (4%) to the Quarter Horse Breed Development Fund. In addition, all breakage and unclaimed tickets are distributed equally between this fund and the Thoroughbred Breed Development Fund.
