The Public Access Counselor position was created in order to provide advice and assistance concerning the Indiana's public access laws to members of the public and government officials and their employees. The Counselor will provide written advisory opinions in response to formal complaints so long as there is no pending judicial proceeding under the Indiana Open Door Law (governing meetings of public agencies) or the Indiana Access to Public Records Act (governing records of public agencies) on the same matter.
