Laird Stone was appointed to the Board in December 2001. He is a partner in the law firm Stephan, Kvanvig, Stone and Trainor in Twin Falls. Stone is a Gooding native who graduated from Gooding High School and earned his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Idaho. He continued his education at the Advocacy College of the Hasting College of Law in San Francisco and the National Association of Criminal Defense Trial College in Houston. ... There is approximately $300,000 available for scholarships this academic year through the GYO program. Boise State University, the College of Southern Idaho, Idaho State University, and Lewis-Clark State College are currently providing GYO scholarships of $3,000 per year for full-time students. Beginning in the 2001-2002 academic year, allfreshmen entering an eligible Idaho college or university for the first time andwho graduated from an Idaho high school or its equivalent may be eligible to receive theRobert R. Lee Category B Scholarship. The Robert R. Lee Promise Category B Scholarship will provide up to $250per semester for the 2004-2005 academic year. Institutional matches may be available at some schools. TheRobert R. Lee Promise Category B Scholarship is limited to four semesters and to first-timefreshmen students who are younger than 22 years of age as of July 1 of the yearin which they are applying.
