Any person, organization, club, business, partnership, corporation or other entity that sponsors a fishing contest which is based on the capture of an individual fish, or the size or number of fish captured, must first obtain a fishing contest permit from the Idaho Department of Fish and Game. A fishing contest is defined as an event where the total prize value is greater than $1,000; or the individual entry fee is greater than $25; or the number of boats is greater than 10 or the number of individuals contestants is greater than 20; or there is a live fish weigh-in. Sport anglers are expected to harvest their share of salmon by the time the season is closed. Director Huffaker also signed the closure order for this fishery June 28. ... Kokanee fishing can still be good through mid-August, when most of the larger spawners start to head up the North Fork. Look for the best summer kokanee fishing to be in the upper part of the reservoir. Trout and smallmouth bass fishing can be very good this time of year throughout the reservoir. The reservoir above Grandad Bridge opens to fishing on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. The trout limit in this part of the reservoir is 6 per day, but only 2 of those can be cutthroat. ...
