Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project
Volunteer With Us Volunteering is a rewarding experience with MFBRP. Volunteers have a chance to gain valuable skills in habitat management and field ornithology activities, while allowing the project to attain its goals. Field duties will vary with current initiatives but typically include assistance in avian conservation through mist netting birds, nest searching, and forest bird population studies. Habitat management requires assistance in maintaining alien predator control grids of rodenticide bait stations and mechanical traps and rat population studies. Other duties could include transect cutting, radio telemetry, and data collection. Field duties are physically challenging. Office duties include, but are not limited to data entry for use in reports, administrative clerical work and preparation/maintenance of all field equipment and facilities.
