U.S. Congressman Mike Castle Castle Receives Key National Manufacturing Award, Major Delaware Companies Present ... Castle on the Issues ... "We live and operate in a global economy, an economy that the U.S. continues to dominate but an economy where Asia and India are now major players. Taking these major players into consideration, there are many improvements to be made so that our manufacturers can compete on this global level. First, we must keep our eye on growing industrial economies like China and India - to understand their pattern of growth and their manufacturing strategies. Second, I believe that we need a fairer, flatter tax code, and fair tariff policies. Third, and I believe, most importantly, we need better education for our students. The next generation of innovators, scientists, mathematicians, and engineers must come from here, from Delaware and from the U.S. The education of our students holds the key to the future. We must continue to promote higher education in the ways of Masters degrees and PhDs. This is the key to maintaining our dominance in the manufacturing field," said Castle. ... [Read More]
