In Louisiana, a person whose wife is a wheelchair user complained that a restaurant did not have adequate accessible parking and also that the only wheelchair accessible seating was located in the smoking section of the restaurant. The restaurant determined that it was not possible to put in a permanent ramp to the non-smoking section given the configuration of the existing room. Anthony's Pier 4 Restaurant, Boston, Massachusetts -- Agreements were reached with the owners and operators of Anthony'sPier 4 restaurant in Boston, Massachusetts, and three other restaurantsin the Boston area. Anthony's Pier 4 is one of the five largestrestaurants in the United States. The agreements call for a varietyof changes to the facilities, including provision of accessibleparking spaces, accessible entrances, accessible dining areas,and accessible restrooms. In particular, the agreement with Anthony'sPier 4 calls for reconstructing the front of the restaurant toprovide an accessible entrance and accessible restrooms, constructionof a ramp to provide access to an outdoor patio, and installationof a mechanical wheelchair lift to provide access to the banquetand meeting rooms on the second floor of the facility.
