Town of Oxford, Connecticut U.S.A. Welcome to the Town of Oxford home page. A small town with a rural character, Oxford has a population of about 9,900 people with an area of 33 square miles. We are located in southwestern Connecticut between the Housatonic and Naugatuck rivers with easy access to I-84 and Route 8. As the Town of Oxford enters mid year 2005, we find ourselves poised to spring into a bright and rewarding future. The Town has begun a plan of Conservation and Development that will enable our Planning and Zoning Commission to maintain and purchase open spac ... [Read More]

This elastic property keeps the ball on the club face longer. That supplies more spin to the ball but not at the expense of distance. More "bite" on the fairway is every golfer's desire. ... The basic jurisdictional issue was how to differentiate between golf cars that weremanufactured exclusively for use on golf courses and those that are being permitted by states andmunicipalities to be operated as on-road vehicles. NHTSA tentatively decided to adopt a speedcriterion to address this question. The industry's standard Z130.1, which applies to all golf cars, contains a specification for "Maximum vehicle speed "(paragraph 9.6.1) under which "(t)heaverage speed [of runs in opposite directions] shall not exceed 15 mi/h (24 km/h)" (paragraph9.6.1.3). Further, NGCMA stated at the July 25, 1996 public meeting that its primary activitysince its inception had been the promotion and sponsorship of standard Z130.1 and that 100percent of its members adhered to it. Accordingly, the record before the agency at the time of itsproposal indicated that if a golf car could go faster than 15 miles per hour, the maximum speedpermitted by the industry standard for golf cars to be used solely on ...
