Forexample, the CPA should represent preservation interests in state-wide programssuch as "Access Colorado". ...

Much can be done to organize current preservation activities in a structuredprogram. The particular skills possessed by the volunteers available to the CPAshould be assessed and a plan developed to make maximum use of them in asystematic program to be carried out during the coming three to five yearperiod. Particular attention should be paid to enlisting the support and talentsof persons not now active in CPA but who are active in other organizations whoseinterests and goals relate to those of CPA.  External resources should alsobe considered, especially speakers, workshops, and other programs that might beused by the CPA at little or no cost. ... CPA -How To Flatten Folded Or Rolled Paper Documents
In most cases paper records will relax completely in four to six hours. Checkthe contents of the chamber hourly to determine how long it takes to relax theparticular size, weight, and type of paper. For example, drawings on tracingpaper or tracing cloth (linen) will not require as long an exposure as ordinarypapers. Do not over-humidify. It is possible that the image on the paper willbleed or run or that the surface sizing will swell if left in the humiditychamber too long. Also, permanent distortions (cockling) will occur in papersthat become too moist and are not allowed to dry properly. Over-humidifiedpapers may feel tacky to the touch and will be extremely limp and weak. ... [Read More]

Professional recognition through certification or licensure provides a distinct advantage in the job market. CPAs are licensed by a State Board of Accountancy. The vast majority of States require CPA candidates to be college graduates, but a few States substitute a number of years of public accounting experience for a college degree. As of early 2003, based on recommendations made by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), 42 States and the District of Columbia required CPA candidates to complete 150 semester hours of college coursework—an additional 30 hours beyond the usual 4-year bachelor’s degree. Another five States—Arizona, Minnesota, New Mexico, New York, and Virginia—have adopted similar legislation that will become effective between 2004 and 2009. Colorado, Delaware, New Hampshire, and Vermont are the only States that do not require 150 semester hours. Many schools have altered their curricula accordingly with most programs offering mast ...
