The Wildlife Spatial Analysis Lab at the Montana Cooperative Wildlife Research Unit developed FUELBASE, an integrated database of wildfire behavior and risk over 27.5-million hectares of Federal, State, and private forests in western Montana and northern Idaho for the U.S. Forest Service. FUELBASE is an ArcInfo raster file (90-meter resolution) that maps unique combinations of land-cover type, canopy closure class, slope, aspect, fire behavior fuel model, fire rate of spread, flame length, fireline intensity, and human population density.
