As required by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, rapid response activities are implemented by Local Workforce Investment Areas (LWIAs). These activities are conducted to plan and deliver services to assist dislocated workers in transitioning to new employment as quickly as possible following a natural or other disaster, a layoff or permanent closure resulting in job dislocation. In Arizona, Rapid Response activities are provided by the LWIAs . Services are available in each local county through the One-Stop Centers .
