Fagatele Bay National Marine Sanctuary Ms. Daschbach was born far from the ocean in Pittsburgh, PA. She received her university training at West Virginia University (B.S. 1971, M.S. in Biology, 1978). Her professional work experience includes managing a university laboratory, teaching high school, working as a lab technician and microbiologist for the Environmental Protection Agency, and as an editor for a newspaper. Ms. Daschbach is a charter member of Le Vaomatua, a local environmental organization and held positions on the board (Chair 1991 and 1992) and as an officer (vice-president, 1990) for several years. She currently serves on the board of directors of South Pacific Academy, an independent elementary and secondary school.
