The 2004 WRP annual meeting will be held at the Sheraton Anchorage Hotel in downtown Anchorage, Alaska, September 8-10. The meeting planning team has been hard at work putting together an interesting meeting featuring local as well as regional speakers. Alaska and Canadian issues will be addressed, such as Atlantic salmon and EEZ aquaculture, climate change opening up new routes and pathways for ANS, and challenges with ballast water in the north. Regional issues will include presentations on New Zealand mud snails and their movements/pathways, zebra mussels in Kansas and the Missouri River and a new Sea Grant partnership outreach project to target aquarium hobbyists.
