The mission of this program is to restore land and water resources which have been adversely affected by past coal mining. Reclamation is conducted on abandoned surface mines, coal processing areas, and underground mine entries. The Division is making an aggressive effort to reduce the backlog of public safety hazards and environmental problems from past mine activities.
