The national police force is divided into nine countrywide divisions and had 5,896 members. Municipal police, who are under the jurisdiction of 14 regional administrative bodies, supplement the national service. Conditions at the women's prison generally met international standards. Children between the ages of 15 and 19 were held at the Youth Training Center.
