Hagåtña, Guam HagÃ¥tña (formerly Agana) is the capital of Guam. According to the 2000 Census, it has a population of 160,000. In 1998, the territorial legislature changed the name from Agana (pronounced /agaɲa/ (International Phonetic Alphabet)) to HagÃ¥tña to more closely match the Chamorro/Chamoru pronunciation. The city is served by Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport in Tamuning. .
