Cúcuta, Colombia


Cúcuta, also known as San José de Cúcuta, is a city in Colombia. It is the capital of Norte de Santander, which is between Los Patios and the border with Venezuela.

The city was largely destroyed by an earthquake on 18 May 1875, but was soon rebuilt.

In 1939 Cúcuta had a population of 59,323 people in 1990 it had 532,564 and in 2002 it had a population of 756,291.
